1. DADDY NEEDS A NEW TRACTOR
Sandra Swannell & Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN

I don't want to get up
You can't make me
Pillows over my head
Nothing can save me from the daylight
And I think I hear the phone
Daddy's got the coffee on
Get up you lazy bones

Do do do-do do do
Daddy needs a new tractor
Do do do-do do do
Daddy needs a new ride

I was up late last night
I play hard for my keep

Everybody's good time
Moving their feet to the music
But when the music's done
I'm counting all my nickels, man
Wondering where they've gone

Chorus

This material girl
Don't shop on easy street
We're living the simple life
Togged to the nines in our vintage
Those styles have come and gone
Come on get up, get busy girl

And write us a hit song

Chorus

This life of Riley is
All mirrors and smoke
It's time to face the music man
We're elegantly broke
The only rocks that this girl's got
Wind up in stone soup
We ain't raking any lettuce in
And the nest egg flew the coop

Chorus

02. THAT LOVE THING
Sandra Swannell & Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN

What is it about that love thing
Makes me want to sing

I wanna learn every little thing about you
What is it about that love thing?

I used to roll my eyes at sweet sentimental songs
Now I sit here writing one for you
I never thought I'd see the day that I'd ever call someone baby

But now that's my little name for you

Other folks seem to fall in love
At the drop of a hat

But I never wanted my poor little heart
To go splat splat oh no

Chorus

Chorus

I used to think holding hands was a silly affectation
And now I never want to let yours go

I used to always sigh and shrug whenever other lovers hugged
But now I find my arms wrapped round you

Other folks seem to fall in love
At the drop of a hat

But I never wanted my poor little heart
To go splat splat

Chorus

3. THIS OLD QUILT

Sandra Swannell & Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN

Flour sacks and velvet
In pattern side by side
Each piece tells a story
The moments of her life

We listen to their voices
Beneath the wooden frame
A tent in the parlour
Forgotten childhood games

This old quilt
Like her loving arms around me
This old quilt

They talk about the weather
They talk about their friends
Their secrets and their hardships
Gently sewn in

With every roll the quilt takes
The closer we become
Like those many pieces
Soon turned turned into one

Chorus

On this quiet morning
As I watch the falling rain
I pull this quilt around me
And feel her warmth again

Calico and corduroy
Thread and needle bind
A patchwork of memories
And pieces of time

Chorus

4. JOYFUL NOISE

Sandra Swannell & Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN

Gone with the wind, she's dancing on a breeze
She feels her spirit soar to a meadow's jamboree

Sunflowers sway keeping time to the beat.
Hear the sweet refrain that blossoms in her feet

She's dancing through fields of wild flowers
Daisy chaining step after step
She's dancing to a tune kept safe in her heart
A melody that time will not forget

She lets her feet rain down in a sunshower dance
Just like dew drops on the bloom of new romance
Butterfly oh how do you do? Do you remember how to dance
The way she taught you to?

chorus

Oh reach for the sky and set your heart free
Just make a joyful noise with your feet

Gone with the wind, she's dancing on a breeze
She feels her spirit soar to a meadow's jamboree

Sunflowers sway keeping time to the beat.
Hear the sweet refrain that blossoms in her feet

She's dancing through fields of wild flowers
Daisy chaining step after step
She's dancing to a tune kept safe in her heart
A melody that time will not forget

5. Polkadots and Moonbeams

Jimmy Van Heusen, Johny Burke
Used with permission.  Arr. My Sweet Patootie

A country dance was being held in a garden
I felt a bump and heard an "Oh, beg your pardon"
Suddenly I saw polka dots and moonbeams
All around a pug-nosed dream

The music started and was I the perplexed one
I held my breath and said "May I have the next one?"
In my frightened arms, polka dots and moonbeams
Sparkled on a pug-nosed dream

There were questions in the eyes of other dancers
As we floated over the floor
There were questions but my heart knew all the answers
And perhaps a few things more

Now in a cottage built of lilacs and laughter
I know the meaning of the words "Ever after"
And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams
When I kiss the pug-nosed dream

6. HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT
Eddie Schwartz, Sony/ATV Songs LLC
Used with permission.  Arr. My Sweet Patootie

Well you're a real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts, like the one in me
That's O.K., let's see how you do it
Put up your dukes, let's get down to it!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Why Don't You Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Fire Away!

You come on with your come-ons, you don't fight fair
That's O.K. darlin, see if I care!
You knock me down, but it's all in vain
I'll get back on my feet again!

Chorus

Well you're a real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts, like the one in me
That's O.K., come on let's see how you do it
Put up your dukes, let's get down to it!

Chorus

7. MOMENTS

Terence Young, Easy Bake Records  - SOCAN

In the blue world

Of the day before the dawn
When you stayed up all night long
For nothing more than just to greet it

And you sang strong
Round the fire with your friends
And how you wished it'd never end

In every chorus you repeated

Oh how they shine
All the moments how they shine
When it all comes together for a time
When it all comes together for a time

In the hot sun
Where you raised your glasses high
To the bluest of all skies
You found something to believe in

So you reached out
And you tried to hold on

But thunder struck then it was gone
And you wondered if you dreamed it

Chorus

In the tall grass
By an old abandoned farm
Where you lay there in her arms
And it was all you ever needed

Now the leaves fall
As you're riding down the path
All alone and still you laugh
Because somehow you are completed

Oh how they shine
All the moments they still shine
When it all comes together one more time
When it all comes together one more time

8. COFFEE BEAN
Sandra Swannell & Terence Young - SOCAN

She's a dreamy fella's dream my little coffee bean
She always perks me up when she's around
Sometimes she's coarse sometimes refined she'll even do the grind
In that little shop in my downtown.

Now all the other guys how they'd love to drink her up,
But she only brews for me not in some other fella's cup
Now every time it's bliss when I bring her to my lips
She's a mystery dark and bold in each tiny frothy kiss

And there are no words to espresso my actions say it best
I always roast her slow, even the French would be impressed

All night she keeps me up. Could it be her perfect cup?
A single shot in the dark is all I need
And you may think I've overpaid, but she's the fairest of her trade
She's my little coffee bean (you know what he means)
She's my little coffee bean

9. LOLLYGAGGING
Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN

10. FOX & POSSUM
Sandra Swannell & Terence Young, Easy Bake Records - SOCAN align=left>There's a pretty little possum waiting by the road
How'd she ever end up in Ontario?

She's a long, long way from home
She's a long way from home

Virginia's never seen the likes of this snow
Lordy have mercy on Ontario

Chorus

She could'a had her pick of any southern beaux
Sippin'lemonade beneath a sycamore

Chorus

Chorus

She met a handsome red fox from Ontario
Working in a travelling music show
He was a long, long way from home
He was a long way from home

What she ever saw in him, her daddy'd never know
No use in telling her to take it real slow

Chorus

He sang her songs so sweet, he sang 'em soft and low
But never did he mention that gaddang snow

Chorus

Y'all come round now and say hello
To the possum and fox and the gaddang snow

8. COFFEE BEAN
Sandra Swannell 2004 SOCAN

Was it something I said?
What did you hear?
What was it about goodbye that wasn't clear?

Was it the sound of the door that finally closed behind me?
Or the echo of departing footsteps in your ear
Tell me what brought you half way 'round God's green earth
What makes you think there's something for you here?

Let me get this straight

You sailed across the ocean, on a hunch, on a foolish notion
That I might still be in love with you
Your days of grey are far behind me, I never wanted you to find me
Now you wanna try and mend that fence and I can't believe your arrogance

What makes you think you're still the one?
You're not the one, no, no, no
What makes you think you're still the one?

Was it something I said?
Was it something I did?
Or was it really all just in your head?

Was it the sound of the squealing tires that misled you?
Or the disconnected number that you dialed?
Tell me what makes you think you've got half a chance in hell?
What makes you think you can drag me up that aisle?

Chorus

11. LITTLE RED WAGON World
Sandra Swannell & Terence Young – SOCAN

I know you been looking my way and don't think I don't know why
I've seen you smiling at me every time I happen to drive by
I've heard you whistling at me every time I come along
And I know exactly what you've been fixin' on

It's my little red wagon
She's a real cherry bomb
My little red wagon
She's still got it going on
Hard body, solid steel
All her original parts
Well you can look, but you can't touch
And that old girl will break your hearts
She's my little red wagon

You ask "How old is she?" A 1962.
You'd guess she's hiding a V6 under that shiny hood
You've seen nothing quite like her, you know she's a one of a kind
You know you've never seen her at your local show and shine

Chorus

She's the sweetest ride ever made
She can make your every day one big parade

Chorus

12. BAD SERVICE
Terence Young - SOCAN

It was early in the morning, I couldn't get to sleep
I guess I wasn't feeling all that right (Cry me a river, I'll play you a sad violin)
Then I remembered the late night honey bee
Served hot food so I went out for a bite

The counter lady kindly greeted me, (Whatchu want?)
I guess a coffee'll do for now (Can't you see I'm on the phone? Hang on a minute Shirley girl)
She towed her wares and eyed me leerily
I knew I had to make my mind up soon somehow (Does it look like I got all night?)

Bad Service, really bad service
The worst I have ever seen

Bad service, bad as can be
That's what you get at the late night honey bee

I placed my order for a delicacy
But when she served it up it gave me quite a fright
She rang my bill in "That'll be $2.93"

Before I had a chance to take my first bite

No serviette no courtesy
She cracked her knuckles while she waited for my dough
No manners, no hospitality
When something's wrong you should let somebody know (Presentation isn't everything)

Chorus

Hi Shirley girl, I'm back. What's that?
Oh, I dunno just some little be-bop boy

looking for some chug and belch.
Anyway what were we?

Oh yeah, Ya don't say?
Hey wait a minute. No Tip???
